Forget Bush…Let’s Blame Reagan
The Liberals Utopia: All We are Saying is Give Peace a Chance
Stimulating a Record Deficit
Who says the people on the Right don’t have a sense of humor. The only thing stimulating America right now happens to be the Viagra and Enzyme commercials, maybe that’s why Obama is so hot to take over the health care system. His crack team of economic advisors and their questionable projections might be predicting that if Obama keeps Americans big, hard and preoccupied for an extended but undetermined amount of time he might be able to create or save something. If nothing else he’ll have erected a stiff argument for another government intervention of epic proportions.
We can already here the social misfits on the Left proclaiming how unfunny that is, of course neither is the fact that $300 billion of the so-called stimulus money is going to health care, education, unemployment benefits, food stamps and other Democratic social programs. This socialistic approach will only stimulate government dependency and the need for more taxation; not the economy!
But wait, there is some refreshing news coming out of the South or the Sun Belt area of America – stimulus money for weatherization in the amount of 5 billion dollars. Instead of helping the people up North with keeping their heating bills down where the average spent is almost $1200 a year our government and all their wisdom wants to help the people of the Sun Belt area keep their “air conditioning” bills down where the average spent is almost $600 a year even though a study concluded that weatherizing a home to keep the cold air in didn’t save all that much money. In fact one home saw their electric bill go up after their house was weatherized (probably done by government employees or illegals where weatherization is a foreign word kind of like the word “Illegal”). Don’t fret though, this money will create a handful of jobs, albeit in the service area of the construction industry where a lot of companies hire “illegal immigrants”, if nothing else it will help Mexico with its economy; after all Mexico is part of North America.
As stimulating as all this is the only other thing being stimulated from Obama’s Recovery Act of 2009 is the deficit both federal and national. Not only will Obama be known for becoming Americas first “Black” President, but he will also be known for record spending by any President, ever. Of course he can always blame that on his “White” half! As far as the deficit goes and man is it going, right through the roof with no stopping in sight, we are left with an illusion that when George W. Bush took over the office of President in 2001 we had a surplus and yes this was nothing more than an illusion created by a manipulation of numbers. If Clinton produced a surplus than why did the National debt increase every year he claimed to have produced a surplus? Here is the logic behind the Clinton Administration’s “creative financing” surplus, made easy for everyone to comprehend, even those on the Left:
(***The federal government’s fiscal year runs September through the following September)
Conclusion: No surplus – just a manipulation of numbers, creative borrowing, a shifting of debt and presto an imaginary surplus was produced!
And now Obama wants to remove some of the so-called “off-budget” items to manipulate the numbers even more in hopes of creating; ???????
The most fascinating aspect of this whole stimulus package is how it has been spun and spun again by the White House and the media. Every day they seem to be projecting that this recession is coming to an end or is easing up a bit or will be over by the end of the year or…the fairy tales are never ending. Who will actually have the final say as to when this recession will really be over – NOBODY – because the simple truth is you never know when a recession starts until you are knee deep into it and you never know when a recession is over until you are completely out of it. One thing that is true however, is the fact that spending money on social programs does not stimulate the economy and hoping that this so-called stimulus package will end a recession is like hoping that the Arab World would actually embrace Israel and make peace overnight.
At least Obama and his Administration have an out to fall back on when all the stimulating is done and America is on the brink of financial disaster – It’s Bush’s fault, because they are only human and they didn’t realize just how awful things really were!
RIGHT, THAT’S ALL WE HEARD FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS!
A Democratic Democracy for Terrorists and by the Terrorists
Understanding what Nancy Pelosi really said about her knowledge of any waterboarding briefings;
“They misled me and they lied to me and, and my focus at that time was not on protecting America, I mean who cares about America, my focus was on a much more pressing issue…stealing congressional control away from the Republicans at all costs. You don’t understand, deceiving the American public with the help of the national news media is not as easy as it looks, these things have to be done delicately, otherwise, they can backfire on you quickly. Just ask Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania. Excuse me for a minute while I get another Botox shot in my face so the American people won’t be able to tell if I’m lying or not.”
And so the story goes. First of all these meetings have to do with national security and are considered classified material for a reason. It would be hard to imagine that Pelosi wasn’t briefed about the same material as Jane Harman seeing that these meetings were only 5 months apart. The reason we came to this conclusion is the fact that Pelosi read this letter and agreed with its contents, but didn’t sign it. Leaving her an escape route if anything comes back to haunt her, like being a vocal advocate against interrogation tactics now instead of back in 2002 or 2003. Our next observation is rather compelling, after reading this letter over and over it seems impossible to construe this as a letter of protest. It reads more like a letter of appreciation and make sure you cover your butts in case of future retaliations by either Party.
Mr. Scott Muller General Counsel Central Intelligence Agency Washington, DC 20505
Dear Mr. Muller,
Last week’s briefing brought home to me the difficult challenges faced by the Central Intelligence Agency in the current threat environment. I realize we are at a time when the balance between security and liberty must be constantly evaluated and recalibrated in order to protect our nation and its people from catastrophic terrorist attack and I thus appreciate the obvious effort that you and your Office have made to address the tough questions. At the briefing you assured us that the [redacted] approved by the Attorney General have been subject to an extensive review by lawyers at the Central Intelligence Agency, the Department of Justice and the National Security Council and found to be within the law.
It is also the case, however, that what was described raises profound policy questions and I am concerned about whether these have been as rigorously examined as the legal questions. I would like to know what kind of policy review took place and what questions were examined. In particular, I would like to know whether the most senior levels of the White House have determined that these practices are consistent with the principles and policies of the United States. Have enhanced techniques been authorized and approved by the President?
You discussed the fact that there is videotape of Abu Zubaydah following his capture that will be destroyed after the Inspector General finishes his inquiry. I would urge the Agency to reconsider that plan. Even if the videotape does not constitute an official record that must be preserved under the law, the videotape would be the best proof that the written record is accurate, if such record is called into question in the future. The fact of destruction would reflect badly on the Agency.
I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
JANE HARMAN
The Honorable Jane Harman Ranking Democratic Member Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence House of Representatives Washington, DC 20515
Dear Ms. Harman:
Thank you for your letter of 10 February following up on the briefing we gave you and Congressman Goss on 5 February concerning the Central Intelligence Agency’s limited use of the handful of specially approved interrogation techniques we described. As we informed both you and the leadership of the Intelligence Committees last September, a number of Executive Branch lawyers including lawyers from the Department of Justice participated in the determination that, in the appropriate circumstances, use of these techniques is fully consistent with US law. While I do not think it appropriate for me to comment on issues that are a matter of policy, much less the nature and extent of Executive Branch policy deliberations, I think it would be fair to assume that policy as well as legal matters have been addressed within the Executive Branch.
I enjoyed meeting you, albeit briefly, and I look forward to seeing you again.
Sincerely,
Scott W. Muller
Mr. Muller’s response seems ethical, to the point and sent within a reasonable time frame. Now the CIA and the Bush Administration has not waivered on their recollections of the logistics of these briefings unlike their counterparts from across the aisle who have claimed everything from being misled to being outright lied to. Here are some statements made by Pelosi, aides to Pelosi and Harman:
After reading Harman’s letter, Muller’s response and then all the complaints and excuses by these two women and their aides we’re very surprised that their noses didn’t double in size. Not to be politically incorrect, but these two women are full of sh*t!
Barbara Boxer –......taking offense to being called “ma’am” by a Brigadier General; “Do me a favor, could you say “senator” instead of “ma’am”? It’s just a thing, I worked so hard (at screwing the people of California) to get that title, so I’d appreciate it, yes, thank you.” Just another arrogant Liberal, kind of like Obama; don’t call me “Hussein” or “Muslim” until after I win the presidency!
Leon Panetta –......taking offense to Cheney criticizing the Obama Administration’s take on interrogation tactics; “I think he smells some blood in the water on the national security issue. It’s almost, a little bit, gallows politics. (Is he insinuating that Cheney thinks someone should be hung for this?) When you read behind it, it’s almost as if he’s wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point. I think that’s dangerous politics.” It’s alright for the Left to interpret anything said by the Right any way they see fit!
David Letterman –......once again a Liberal taking the low road in the name of comedy; “Sarah Palin went to a Yankees game yesterday, there was one awkward moment during the seventh-inning stretch: Her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.” His excuse – I wasn’t referring to her 14-year old daughter Willow who was at the game with her, I was referring to her 18-year old daughter Bristol who wasn’t there. RIGHT!
Brigadier General Michael Walsh –......for having the courtesy to address Barbara Boxer as “ma’am” instead of “You Ignorant Bitch from California”. My hats off to him for being so polite after she interrupted him with her little arrogant whine about how she is to be addressed.
Former vice-President Dick Cheney –......for having the courage to criticize the Obama Administrations’ irresponsible handling of our national security when it comes to terrorists, to which he surmised; “would make the American people less safe and that it is recklessness cloaked in righteousness”. But his response to Panetta’s outrageous and ridiculous interpretation was brilliant; “I hope my old friend Leon was misquoted”. Seems whenever a liberal puts his/her proverbial foot in their mouth they were somehow taken out of context or misquoted.
Governor Sarah Palin –......for standing up to a disgusting old man (Letterman) and the morons who admire him (Matt Lauer). Nobody could have said it better; “Laughter incited by sexually perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/N.Y. entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands – that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone’s daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others”.
